Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Can someone clarify something for me?

I'm confused how both Avonbride and VTbride both managed to care for their little ones at the hospital without notifying the nest?  I thought this was the protocol.

1) child hurts himself

2) get on the bump, ask everyone what to do

3) take LO to hospital, texting all IRL nesties you know (or pretend to know) to update the boards

4) post pics from the ER to the nest of your child in their bed either as proof for the haters or for the aw factor...perhaps trying to trigger a care package?

5) continue texting

Did I miss a step?

  • lol

Real life problems/emergencies don't really allow for Step 2

  • I have a message on my work phone. I'm assuming they both called me, to tell me that it happened and to ask me to inform the entire bump.

I failed obviously. Oh no, just checked the message. It's just someone needing a copy of a report.

Hm. Now my world is a wreck, how would someone endure a hospital visit without instant access to the nest?

  • Now, I hope that this list doesn't apply when we decide to go to the clinic or the ER to visit the staff Embarrassed...if it does, then I better get DD looking sick &/or hurt. (My mom and/or aunts will call and have me bring DD up because their co-workers miss her....I think she runs the ER....the doctors and nurses give her what ever she wants..errr)
  •  I want to conduct a social experiment... how much bs would you buy before doing a head scratch?

And do different boards have different BS quotas?

  • Alright, who gave this thread 1 star?!!!!  I countered it with 5, so suck on that!

  • I guess throw me in this group as well I spent 2 days at the hospital with DS in June. I did however keep in contact with ibflorida girl to see what was going on, but i don't have a laptop. However I do have a picture of him in the hosptial room. He was the only child in the pedi ward so the nurses were all about DS those 2 days.

But hey I got 3 packs of free diapers, some formula, a wash bin that will actaully be used for future throw up bin when DS is sick and another nebulizer breathing mouth piece.

  • I have a question. Say my Jo was diagnosed with lead poisoning. How much kale would she have to eat to be cured and for it never to be mentioned again?

1 green smoothie every day, coupled with marathon nursing sessions nightly.  i've heard iron drops & supplementing with formula work well, but what do i know?

i also found her a wonderful halloween costume.  i saw it while i was lurking on EFF.

edit: excuse me, i seem to have gotten 2 ailments mixed up when offering cures.  oh well, works just the same, right?

You would need to move into a house made of kale. You should lose your parental rights for not knowing this. I am making Jo an American.

  • Banned! you are all Banned!

You are the weakest link.  Goodbye.

  • Don't let the file drawers hit you on the way out.
  • Oh my, we have moved into dangerous territory...I think it would have been so much more nest-like to see the post:  My son's finger is currently cooling in the fridge as we prepare to take him to the ER.  Send happy thoughts are way as we pray for reattachment! Seriously, I'm so glad that mom didn't waste valuable time letting us know about her ER visit until after all was said and done.
  • This whole thread gets a huge Yes

i'll have to try that one next time!  people on the internet seem to know so much more than stupid doctors anyway.

it seems to go the same with teachers.  stupid public schools.

That is my problem...I don't rub the baking soda on her like I should.  Maybe a little vinger thrown in for good measure?

yes, then wrap in brown paper.

  • I also always consult family members who are secretaries.  I mean, they work for "doctors", right? They must be just as good!
