2nd Trimester

Does your baby jump at loud noises?

Just wondering... Emails said he should, and he never has. Of course I freak out about it, and my husband says "I'm sure in the history of the world there were babies that didn't startle in the womb and they're fine."

  • I've never ever heard of that before and I've definately never felt it with my first or this pregnancy!!!!!!!!!

  • Mine does not, but I'm still pretty early on
  • She started kicking and punching me right after the music started at a concert we went to. After intermission, when the music started again, she started again. It could have my unintentional but I don't think it was.

  • I haven't felt it either this time, but with my first he did. Right around 26 weeks!
  • Sometimes I'll get hard punches after loud noises happen; othertimes not.  She likes to keep me guessing.  :)

  • May be it's too early... I'm just fretting now because I used a doppler and have had a lot of USs. Then I shot my rifle one day not even thinking... So of course I feel like an awful mother! Thanks guys. I think I may just be too early....?

  • I notice he moves around more at church when we are singing, but otherwise this does not happen to me!

  • May be I do notice that he moves more when there are other children around.... Hmmm I didn't even think of that. May be just doesn't scare easy?

  • My baby enjoyed all the music when I went to see Burn the Floor a couple weeks ago (ballroom/latin dancing Broadway show if you aren't familiar with it). I was surprised but he definitely reacted to the booming.
  • I have never noticed a jump or a kick after a loud noise.  My LO loves to move around after I eat and whenever I am sitting or laying still.
  • DH coaches high school football and when a good play happens MIL whistles and sometimes DS kicks after previously being pretty quiet.

  • i felt my baby do this about 2 weeks ago when i went to a Yankees game. everytime the crowd cheer he kicked REALLY hard. he had me jumping out of my chair. lol
  • Yeah last week I went to a play and every time it got really loud in there I'd feel the baby move around a lot.

Same for today I had a funeral to go to at church and the music was really loud and of course the baby was moving all around.
