Stopped waving bye bye??

DS started to wave bye around 10 months. He did it a lot until about the past week and now he won't do it anymore. I have heard you should be concerned if they start to lose skills but at the same time he has started pointing and now points at everything. When you ask him what a cow says he says Moo and does the pig sound as well. Did anyone else's baby stop waving bye bye. Is it normal or something that I should be concerned about?

Re: Stopped waving bye bye??

  • My dd stopped waving bye bye about a week ago but picked up blowing kisses when she leaves instead. There have been things that she use to do then stopped but picked up others. I think it's normal

  • My DS went like 2 months without waving bye bye. I was a bit concerned too. It's back and better now. He reaches his hand up and does an actual wave, while say "bye". Maybe yours is just figuring out their own way to do it.

  • DS used to wave, and even tried to blow kisses, and then just stopped...but he was busy picking up other skills. It's been a couple months and he's starting to wave again. I think he just needed to focus on other things for awhile.

exactly this.  It's totally normal to stop waving "bye bye."
