Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

I can't stop crying!!!

We just found out DH is going to deploy! We knew it was going to happen but it became official today. All I can think about is how much he is going to miss! I really don't know what I am going to do! We do not live close to any of our family or friends! I am going to miss him terribly!!! The only positive aspect is he is going to a relatively "safe" location and we will be able to talk to him via webcam. My stomach is in knots! I hate this! Sorry this is just rambling...I am just so upset!

  • That stinks - I'm sorry. How long will he be gone?
  • I'm sorry!  Thank you for the sacrifice you and your family make for our country.

    I hope it's a short deployment.

  • NM I guess AF according to your location. If you live on base you will have tons of support! I am sorry though :(
  • I am so sorry that must be hard

how long is he going for?

  • Wow.  I'm so sorry.

But I'm very proud of him AND you.  You are a great family for supporting our country and serving it!

  • I can't imagine. Hugs.

  • I am so sorry, I would be very sad too.  Take lots of pics and video for him, not the same as being there, but it may help.  I couldn't imagine.
  • Ugh, its so hard. My brother has been gone for 2 months and was away from us before that (training and being based elsewhere). He left for basic the day after Gracen was born and my son doesn't even know his uncle :( Its so hard, but you'll make it through. Get that webcam up and running!
  • I'm sorry. That has to be tough.
  • ((((HUGS))))!  I can't even imagine what you go through and I have family currently serving overseas.  Hang in there and talk to us any time you need to let something out!!!

  • I am so sorry.  ((hugs))
  • I'm sorry.. one of my friends was sent over there a few years ago and he was in a "good" area as well but it was still hard for his wife. and another friend's brother has gone twice over there;one trip being to central Baghdad during the not so great time. he had the "fun" job of being one of the gunners on the hummers that did neighborhood partols. Needless to say he has shot and killed a few people.

I hope its a speedy trip if it helps, keep a journel of everything you do while he is away so he can read it when he gets back.

  • i am so very sorry. i cannot imagine how difficult this is for you. my bff's dad, who is like my second dad, is on his 4th deployment and is in afghanistan. it's so hard to have him away, so i can't even fathom how hard it must be for you. your husband, and you, are sacrificing so much for the good of our country. thank you for that.

  • Thanks ladies! He leaves in January so at least he will be here for the Holidays and we have a decent amount of time before he leaves. I just hope DS will be old enough to somewhat understand. He will be gone for 4 months and will get back in May. I am so thankful it isn't for any longer. I know it could be worse and he could have had to go for a year so I just keep telling myself that
  • I'm so sorry :(

  • I am so sorry honey!
  • Wow, I can't even imagine how hard this would be.  I'm so sorry for you and so grateful that your husband does what he does.  What a huge sacrifice to make for your country.  Hope he comes home really soon.

  • I am so sorry. Wow, that really sucks.  FWIW, I really, really appreciate what your H is doing, and what you're doing to go without him. What a huge sacrifice your family is making for the rest of us. Please tell him some random chick in north carolina says, 'thank you'.
  • i'm so sorry, but also extremely appreciative of the sacrifices that your family makes.

take a lot of video and pics of DC and stay as positive as possible (though i'm sure it's difficult) -- your husband is a hero.

  • I am sorry too and extremely grateful for the sacrifice your family is making.  I think you have a good outlook though- the holidays will be extra special this year for sure!
  • ::Hugs:: I am so sorry! Just make sure to take LOTS of pictures for him! My hubby was suppost to deploy last year but somehow didn't...now there is talk of it again and just the thought of it makes me sick! Just remember you have all of us here for ya!!
