Please Help!

My 12 month old DD has been STTN for months (except when she had a cold and teething), but the past 3 nights she has been waking up crying several times a night. She appears to be happy and healthy all day long and is still napping like normal. But when she wakes up in the middle of the night, she won't go back to sleep unless one of us is holding her. Last night as soon as DH would pick her up, she's lay on her shoulder and go back to sleep, he'd lay her down and she'd start crying. It looks like her molars might be coming in (swollen lumps), but they've looked that way for weeks. We gave her motrin and that didn't even help. Any ideas what else could be going on???  ETA: She has started walking too- could this be related ?

Re: Please Help!

  • Could be a growth spurt - ds just went through the same thing you're describing - lasted about a week. Could be the teeth too - maybe give her some Tylenol/Mortin before bed to see if that helps.

  • DS does that randomly... Not sure why, but it does go away after about a week.

  • When this was happening to us the next day my lo cut a tooth, so that could be the issue. Could your lo be cold? My lo has been doing the same thing (wanting to be held) and when we turned off the fan (we use it for white noise) he went back to sleep without a problem.
