Maile peed on the floor. It's not the first time I've had a kid pee on the floor, but this time it's awful smelling. I cleaned it up, but a few days later, it was smelling still. DH sprayed febreze on it, and it smells like ammonia now. It's right in my living room and quite gross. We have deep cleaned it with a steam cleaner 3 times now, and it's not going away. In fact, it seems to get worse with everything we're doing.
Would calling in a professional make it go away?

Try this:

I've done something similar on really horrible cat spots and it worked WONDERS. If it can get rid of cat pee odor, which is like the foulest thing on the face of the earth, it can probably help with this. It's worth a try, anyway!
The white vinegar is really helpful in getting rid of odors. I use it in my laundry, too.

Go to the pet store and get Nature's Miracle. Spray it on the spot and let it dry. I swear it's magic.
