I personally think its funny that people say this if you plan on inducing, for non medical reasons. Like its some sort of hate crime toward the baby. But if you go into labor at 30 weeks like I did, and say "oh well he'll come when he wants" people just look at you like your crazy. Personally i have done NOTHING to try to induce him, and if he came tomorrow I would be a little upset, since not as much is ready as I would like. But I would be okay with it!
Flame away!
Re: S/O "he'll come when he's ready"
Yeah, but an induction isn't your baby calling the shots or your body calling it quits.
It's you taking it into your own hands for no medical reason that has benefits to the baby or your body.
I would love to see the anthrax laced mail that someone would get if they dared come on these boards talking about being "too posh to push" LOL
to each his own. babies come when they want...some come early, some come late......some of us need the peace of mind that if baby isn't here by due date, an induction for the next day is possible.
just remember ladies....a martyr mentality is terribly unattractive.
well you are comparing apples to bananas here.
Having a baby come on his own there is nothing you can do. You hope for the best and hope they are okay.
But putting your child at that risk just because your tired of being pregnant? Not quite the same.
When I was researching my induction, I read about being to posh to push! I thought it sounded terribly funny! I almost posted saying thats what I wanted to do!
I'm glad someone else has heard of it.
I'm not inducing at 37 weeks. I'm inducing at 39.3, there is a HUGE difference
This post is in general. I was S/O from a post further down on the board. I felt as if you were trying to attack my position from last night.
also, you shouldn't end a post that is semi controversial with "flame away" if
1. you really don't want to hear it
2. it's a thinly veiled attempt to somehow get validation today for something you were highly flamed for yesterday
I'm wondering why we keep beating this dead horse. Abby has decided to have an early induction because she feels like it. Lots of people here (including me) strongly disagree with it.
Why do we need to keep discussing it every single day? Who really gives a damn anymore.
This. I think the reason it keeps getting brought up is because Abby keeps bringing it up! None of us are going to change her mind though, so we might as well stop wasting our breath.
Yep. Over it. Its all negative attention.
all i can say is Amen to that!
I think it's pretty darn sad that waiting for baby to come rather than scheduling for convenience is considered martyrdom
