I just asked DH to please take the sheets out of the dryer and put them on the bed while I cook dinner. His response "I really don't know how to do that."

My dh amazes me. The simplest task can require several minutes of explination. Sometimes I am amazed that he lived on his own and got the degree and job that he has.
I say make sure you show him now and watch him do it so he can't use that excuse ever again! Guys love to act like they don't know how to do things just to get out of doing them.
My DH tries that same line. Or, even better, "well, you won't like the way I do it, so it will be easier for you to just do it your way the first time".

Is your DH also a 6'1" Tamil guy? Because we may be married to the same man!
But seriously, my DH had almost no "life skills" when we met because he grew up in a culture where men were coddled & had everything done for them. My mom says my dad was much the same way (Latin Americans also treat boys/men like royalty); he had never used a stove until they were married because my grandma always cooked for him!

OH MY GOD... i thought i was the only one!!
I work with kids in a daycare when they call me and need an extra hand and I have some kids who are little little (3 months) and the oldest is just before school age. I get these glazed over looks when I ask a kid to do something, or if they did something, and I GET THE SAME LOOK FROM DH! He also does everything really crappy so that I just wont ask him to do it again next time. I think he likes not being allowed in the kitchen or laundry room because it's like the tazmanian devil follows him with a tornado cloud of mess!

Oh wow - LOL - men are so funny. Mine always complains about not having any clean underwear and I always tell him the same thing - "you are perfectly capable of doing laundry".

I'm sorry, I know this is probably really annoying considering the day you have had...but I think it is kind of funny to! Looks like that boy has some learning to do!

Or screw them up to the point where we get fed up and just take over.

My DH pulls that crap too, but last night he reversed it on me. I was cooking a recipe that he usually makes, and he told me I was cooking it in the wrong pan, the wrong way. I said "I know how to cook, and at least I don't use every pan in the cupboard when I do!" Arg.

My DH is an amazing cook however everytime he cooks every pot/pan/dish/utensil is dirty by the time he is done.

Sounds like something my DH would say to get out of donig something. I used to get frustrated with him and just do it myself, now if he pushes it I go about my business and calmly and happily (fake happy of course) give him step by step directions. It's more annoying for him that way because he still has to do it, and listen to me nag him bwahahaha.

I had to explain to DH that even though you use bleach on your whites you should also use detergent. His response "why?" IDK why! Just do it. I had to ask my mom to explain it to both of us because it was how I was taught I never thought to ask why. I am just glad he does laundry at all.
That's ok, earlier I went into the laundry room and found that DH had put DS laundry from the dryer into the laundry basket, I was like "oh cool, thanks" so I just carried it upstairs and dumped it out on the bed and over half of it is still WET! I said "Jim, did you notice Jack's clothes were still wet when you moved them from the dryer into the laundry basket?" He paused and said "Oh....I guess I didn't notice...."
My DH hates putting the sheets on the bed. Not long ago he told me that I wash the sheets too much. I wash them once a week I don't that is excessive. Men can be so lazy!

Yeah....I do it once a week too. I swear they could sleep in the same sheets for a year and not care. Disgusting!
When I moved in with DH he had one bath towel. I asked what he expected me to use, and he told me we could share. It was at that moment I remembered that he told me he hadn't done laundry in a couple of weeks...
...needless to say I headed over to Kohl's and bought more.
Yea well get this my husband at one point would not do laundry. So I knew that he is a briefs man. And he also had some boxers that he never where. So I stop washing his brief and would only wash his boxers because he was forced to wear those. You would think since he hate wearing boxers with a passion he would at least do one load of his laundry. Nope go figure his lazy ass has adapted to wearing boxers now. Of course in time he started learning to do laundry but not because of this incident.

Yup I get that too!
I was asked by my husband yesterday while cleaning up the house...
DH: Why do we clean the house if we are just going to make it messy again."
My reponse: "
"
Or screw them up to the point where we get fed up and just take over.
