Or is it too painful? Formula is food, it's an essential item so I really can't complain about spending money on it but I notice I never buy more then one canister at a time. I do wish they were sold in larger volumes though, especially as babies grow. At some point I'll need to buy one every other day.

We use concentrate, it comes in cases of 12. She eats roughly one can a day. So, for a 31 day month, we spend roughly $110. Our cases of Similac Advance concentrate cost $43 at Walmart. (That's CND funds)
We spend around $60 on Dog food a month, so I'm willing to spend that much on my child's food:)
Oh it just hurts too much.
I have one on Costco, but so far haven't been able to get the other off of Similac Neosure without puking too much.
I get the ones that are 24ish oz and buy at least 6 or 7 at a time. I wish they sold the Enfamil soy at Sams because they have huge cans there (which I still bought at least 3 at a time of).
It's painful, but I've done the math. I buy the large 36.5 oz cans of Enfamil powder at Costco for $32.00 before using coupons/checks (using coupons and formula checks are a life saver) and the last two cans I bought, I got 2 free boxes of the single serve powders. I bought a formula pitcher and usually make a full pitcher every other day.
I'm using all avenues I can think of to save. BRU has the rewards program on formula so I purchase the RTF Enfamil Premium there and I trade/barter for additional coupons and checks. I buy the RTF by the case (6 - 32oz cans) and combine what I can for coupons or I buy individual cans and use an Enfamil check for each one. If I have a $5.00 check/coupon, then the can of formula only costs me a buck and some change. DS can usually go through a can a day, so I alternate.
I just started her on formula.
I think it's about $100 per month for Enfamil Gentlease. When I switch her to the walmart brand (if that works the same) it'll go down to $60.
The way I look at it, when BF I was spending $12 on Gripewater and $9 on mylicon drops every week to fight the gas so formula isn't that much more.
Right now, DS is on the liquid version of the Similac Advance Shield or whatever it's called. I don't blink an eye spending about $175 a month right now. He just can't tolerate the powder yet. He was projectiling the powder, but still spitting up significant amounts on the liquid, and spitting up even more on breastmilk. He is spitting up less and less day by day, so in a couple of weeks (at 3 months) we're going to branch out. Frankly, we're on the high end, and while I don't like it, I am more than willing to do it!
It's 24$ a can for her Goodstart. I go thru 2-3 a week atleast, we somehow waste tons of it. I have no idea how people afford to have so many children!
I got lucky. My kids inherited my lousy gastro system and have all been on Alimentum (DD2 was on NeoSure for a bit). Insurance covers it 100%.
Of course, it's balanced out by the $50./mo I spend on medications for 2 of them for the reflux.
it seems so expensive- but feeding a human for $50/month is not too bad.
You'll spend MUCH more on food when you have a toddler who eats regular stuff... and decides that he won't finish things 1/2 the time and it ends up in the garbage - THAT will drive you crazy thinking of the money wasted.

I think it's $53 a week? DD is on Alimentum. Insurance just started to cover. Have to meet $1500 deductible and then it's covered 80%.
So, in January the deductible starts all over again...but she is a happy happy healthy baby! So, I don't mind paying. It's what I spend on myself for a mani/pedi at least once a month.
This. I'm struggling with 2. Thank God FI only wants 2 kids as well.
