2nd Trimester

If you are doing cardio....

how long are you doing it, what type and how often?

I'm trying to increase my cardio with walks.  I have been excercising 4 to 5 times a week, but 2 of the days are toning with light weights or an excercise video, 1 day is yoga and then 1 or 2 days are the eliptical for 30 minutes.  Now that it's getting cooler though, and I found a walking buddy I think, I will start to walk for 45 min 3 times a week I think.

Re: If you are doing cardio....

  • I try and walk whenever I can- it's always great exercise and I'd much rather walk outside than on the treadmill. But my outside days are limited here in Chicago :) My routine sounds similar to yours- yoga about twice per week and then the elliptical for 20 min (30 if I can squeeze it in). I also want to pick up swimming asap since there's a pool at our gym. I just did prenatal pilates when pg w/ DD and my yoga video, and even that ended up being enough.

  • I've been walking outside, about 3 miles, 3 times a week. I still work with a personal trainer 2 times a week also.

  • I usually run on the treadmill at a 1.5 incline and 4.5 mph for twenty minutes. Then I do the eliptical for another twenty minutes. Then I bike for twenty. I do this three times a week. I do two days of yoga and two days of weights. Then my hubby and I do one day of hiking while the weather is still good. And I plan to keep all this up until the day my baby decides to arrive.

  • I wasn't doing real well with exercise for awhile other than walking the dog, but I've tried to pick it back up this week... so I've walked between 40 min and an hour or done eliptical for 20 and then walking for 20, or something like that.

  • Ugh I've been so slacking. I'm probably doing 40 min on the elliptical 4 days a week and then walking with the dogs and doing weights. I had to cut back b/c of my stupid hips.
  • I do 30-45 minutes six days a week, mostly running with some elliptical.

  • I've been sticking with 5 days a week of exercise.  Two of those days are an hour of strength training.  I usually do 45 minutes of step aerobics 2 days a week and then 45 min to an hour of walking outside or the elliptical on the 5th day.
  • I usually do cardio 4-5 days a week either walking on an incline, elliptical, bike or stepmill for 20-30 min

I also lift 1-2x a week depending on my mood

  • I walk to and from work every day, which is about 2 miles round trip.  I kind of poke along so I don't really consider that to be cardio.  I do go to the gym at least twice a week to do 45 minutes on the elliptical or stationary bike, and another 1-2 days a week I do a DVD called The Perfect Pregnancy Workout, Vol. I.  I need to work out more often now that I'm not so freaking tired!
