Update DS daycare

DS will be at Auntie Daycare until JAN!! Which is great news for us. She is great with DS and she wants to prove that his biting was because of being tired and teething and not because he is behaving badly.

Anyway we are going to get a family membership to the Imagine Children's museum in Everett so that she can take him there to get play time in. And she is really excited to be able to help us out and spend time with DS.

So for now it is going to work out great.

And in the last 3 days he has not even tried to bite us as all and has been napping much longer than the daycare allowed so we really think park of the biting was being tired and hungry. The daycare allowed 1.5 hour nap and at home he ususlly naps 2-3 hours in the afternoon.

  • Annette, that's great! I'm so glad you have a solution and that Robbie is doing better. Sounds like he was definitely tired, poor kiddo.

  • That's wonderful news Annette! I was thinking about you this weekend and imagining your frustrations... I'm still really surprised that his daycare kicked him out though, how is biting any different than hitting? Anyway, I'm sorry you had to go through all this but I know Auntie daycare will be good for Robbie too. Here's a link I found for more stuff to do for kids in the northend: https://northsound.macaronikid.com
  • That must be such a relief for you. I'm glad to hear it's working out well for little man!

  • That is GREAT!

What will you do come January?

have her go to the library for Storytime too!  Then he will be around other kids for a bit, that might be good for him too. :)

We go to the 2 year old story time on Mon's at Marysville and I think 18months and up at the Snohomish Libray on Tues.  Robbie could go to either one.  They have one for birth thru 18 months too.  I'm not sure the time/days, but that would be fun for Auntie and Robbie too!

  • Poor Robbie!  I still can't believe they kicked him out for something that is so developmentally appropriate!  Sounds like it wasn't a good fit though.

  • That is great news.  Having your child with someone you trust is so important.

As for the nap thing, that's crazy!  Tillman doesn't nap every day, but sometimes when he does nap, he naps for 2+ hours...and he's 4!  At Robbie's age, I can't imagine only allowing them to nap for 1.5 hours.  Rip off.

TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.

WTH?? They "allowed" a nap time of a certain time? That is ridiculous! My daycare limits J's naps only because I asked them to wake her up if she sleeps more than 2hrs at a time. It was something I requested though - not the other way around!

I'm glad you guys found something that will work your family. It sounds like a great time for both Robbie and Auntie!

  • I can't believe at that age they'd limit the nap time at day care.  THat doesn't seem right.   Poor guy - Ben definitely acts differently when he's tired and cranky.

I hope he gets rested up and I'm glad you guys found a solution!

  • Glad it will work out.  I also can't believe they limited his naps, especially at his age.
