With Christmas right around the corner, we have started to think about what we'll be buying the boys.
* Which toys have stood the test of time in your house? Are their toys your LO has continually showed interest in? (bonus for PIP or link)
* Anything you wouldn't buy again? Why?
* Anything you would recommend?
Re: Poll: Toys
Looking forward to reading responses, because I don't have a clue what to get Mads for xmas..
Its not a toy, but I always got a robe and new PJ's for xmas. I'll probably follow suit and do the same for Maddy.
There are two toys that I can think of off the top of my head that BOTH boys have continually showed interest in and love. I am always surprised to see Ty playing with either as I would have thought he'd give them up ages ago, but he hasn't. Makes me happy when we get our money's worth out of toys!
The Parents Activity Cube:
We have the Thomas version of this pop up toy, but really Ty LOVES any version. I am always surprised at this toy in particular because it seems so simple yet so many kids love it:
One I wouldn't buy again:
We have a similar busy cube that we got for Owen at 6 months and he still plays with that dang thing!
We also have used the heck out of this little people car garage, I got it at garage sale for $1, but I'd recommend buying it new.
A few things we bought that he has shown no, to very little interest in is the My First Scooter and the sand/water table. Which has surprised me.
The Little Tykes Coupe has been used for a solid two years here. Ryan still likes to get it in almost everyday (and he has lots of other riding toys to choose from). No other toy has gotten as much use here, although the garbage truck was a big hit for along time.

Our most play toys have been our kitchen, shopping cart, cozy coupe, play silks ( for making forts ), wooden roll mower thingy, and musical instruments !!
Things I wouldn't get again would be : Tent from ikea, animal barn set with mini tent from iKEA, outside lawnmower and that is all I can think of for now.
Ditto this one, D loves it! But you already have it. I think everything that D really loves you already have..
He loves anything cars, ANYTHING.
He really has always liked these too..
I would have skipped the ball pit, and this kitchen/ crawl through thing I got for D.
Oh, the Little People school bus has been VERY loved in this house as well. And TRIPLE ditto the ball pit. While it was fun and Ty LOVED it- picking up the 180 balls once he learned to tip over the pit- NOT SO FUN for Mommy.

Cameron *still* loves this thing! And instead of just sitting on it and using it as a jungle gym, he plays with all the different aspects of it. He's really liking the alphabet magnets right now and the ABC tiles on the side.
He also loves the Cozy Coupe...and the Clackalong clacking walker, although he only uses it as a stepstool and a weapon against our feet.
I think we're going to go with the ginormous train table (with the storage drawers) we saw at Costco though.
Does anyone have it?
N still uses the learn and groove music table at our house...but now mostly for music to dance to.
A daily favorite is her kitchen, she plays with it just about every single day.
She also loves her little people zoo, and loves to make the noises that go with the animals.
Other than those it's books!
For christmas this year I'm debating between a cozy coupe, or that trike that I posted the other day...I'm thinking a cozy coupe and then the trike for her birthday.
OMG - I TOTALLY had one of those growing up! It was Disney!
A little different kind of toy but Mateo LOVES animals. We got him a barn and he can stay busy for hours! Our basketball hoop has gotten a lot of use. Puzzles. I agree with the leap frog learn and groove table. Hot wheels?
We have that tonka truck too and it was a waste of money!!
The Crayola magnetic double easel--one of our best buys!
Target bead maze:
Other best buys but can't find pics: Mega Blocks dump truck, LP garage (I think someone already posted this pic), Little Tikes slide, and Thomas the train trackmaster.
