This may just be an Austin thing (she's a local artist)but I bet you can find her CDs on Amazon or iTunes- try Sarah Hickman. I especially like her Toddler CD.
Funny you should ask. We were on a 3-hour drive yesterday and DS whined for the first 1/2 hour so we stopped at Borders off the highway to get out some energy and we bought a book and a CD for the rest of the trip: Putamayo European Playground. We all liked it! Each song is from an artist from a different country, in their native language. They're all upbeat tunes.
A friend gave us Kenny Loggins' CD: Return to Pooh Corner as a gift. I was skeptical, even though I did like some of his music way back in Jr. High (yeah, I'm old). But it is very nicely done and so mellow. I highly recommend it for quiet time.
Childhood cancer (DH) + chemo + radiation = 0 sperm.
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!
My friend has that Elizabeth Mitchell one. It is really good! That might be a good Xmas present.
DD is happy to listen to regular music, too. Her favourites are Coldplay and the Buena Vista Social Club. Oh, and she asks DH to play Cheb Mami. Those are the 3 she asks for by name most often. When she's feeling charitable she asks for Mommy's music and I get to play my Jeff Buckley and Pete Yorn.
we LOVE Trout Fishing in America's CD "Family Music Party" -- we've been to quite a few concerts too. I also love Laurie Berkner's CD "Rocketship Run".
We listen to a lot of Jack Johnson. I started listening to it while I was pregnant, hoping that if I played it once he was born, it would calm him down. It does! I don't know if it was because I listened to it while pg, or if its just because Jack Johnson is awesome. He has the soundtrack to Curious George, but his other CDs are good for kids too (as far as I can tell anyways - I've never really heard anything vulgar).
I made a CD for DS, and I put piano lullabies and other good songs on it like Baby Mine by Bette Midler, Your Song by Elton John, and a few other random songs on there that I sing to him that I'm sure no one knows.
Ralph's World, Justin Roberts, Laurie Berkner, TMBG, Recess Monkey, Ellis Paul, Frances England, The Terrible Twos, they are all great. Justin Roberts is our favorite though.

Putumayo has a series of kids' CDs that are really great. Bare Naked Ladies Snack Time is fun as are They Might Be Giants kids' CDs.
We also like Free To Be You & Me and Peter, Paul & Mommy a lot.
Ditto. TMBG have the added bonus of being educational (sometimes)
I also like a lot of kid-friendly music (and a lot of not kid-friendly music) and so we'll have the beach boys and simon and garfunkle and music like that on heavy rotation as well as whatever we're listening to now. (Husband REALLY like Aphex Twin and Massive Attack and that genre as well as Classic Rock and straight-up Classical.)
We plan on just playing it all and then talking about appropriate language usage when he's old enough to start mimicking.

We had a couple great CDs for our DD for car rides, etc- they were actually put out by Little Tikes. They are kids songs- many you've heard of, but some maybe not. But, the cool thing is they are mixed really well and put to funky beats, etc. Not smarmy or anything.
We have Free to Be You and Me and Johnny Cash's children's album. ?Do you have any favorites from your childhood that you could get on CD? ?Somehow the fact that I loved Free to Be You and Me as a kid makes me love it even more as a mom. ?I am really not at all into other kids songs/music, so that is all we have so far.
Re: non-annoying kids cds?
We did Kindermusik for a year and a half, so we have a lot of those cds. Most of the songs are great.
DD really likes a local duo-- Bobs and Lolo. They're very EF and fun. One of the highlights of her summer was seeing them live.

Nice harmony.

Ditto Putumayo.
My absolute favorite children's CD is You are My Little Bird by Elizabeth Mitchell
No such thing.
Joseph likes Billy Joel and Brad Paisley.

DD and I have been going to a local Music Together program, so we pretty much listen to the those CDs.

The band for kids Lunch Money is really good, I have their CD "Dizzy" and it has some really good songs on it.
Huge BNL fan here and I am gonna check out that Snack Time one :-)
