Birth Poll

I'm getting bored from all of this resting, so I thought I would do a poll!

  1. What were some signs that you were going into labor?
  2. Was DC born before, on, or after his/her due date?
  3. Did you have things ready at that point (ie, hospital bag packed, car seat installed) or was it more of a scramble?
  4. How long did labor last?
  5. How much did DC weigh?

    1. What were some signs that you were going into labor? I started having contractions Friday, they weren't too bad, but they weren't braxton hicks either.
    2. Was DC born before, on, or after his/her due date? He was born 9 days late.
    3. Did you have things ready at that point (ie, hospital bag packed, car seat installed) or was it more of a scramble? Every thing was ready. I did most of my laboring at home so we had time.
    4. How long did labor last? 56 hours. I started having some pretty intense contractions on Saturday morning at about 2:30 am, continued to have some pretty intense contractions all weekend. Couldn't eat or sleep, but they were still kind of spurratic. Finally went to the Birth Center on Sunday night at 8:30pm, they broke my water Sunday morning around 6am, I started pushing about 9:15am, and had him at 10:35 am.
    5. How much did DC weigh? 9 lbs 9.5 ozs.
    1. What were some signs that you were going into labor?  Two days before I had lost some of my mucas plug.  Had early contractions, 35 hours before dd was born so I had a long time to wait it out.
    2. Was DC born before, on, or after his/her due date?  DD was born 10 days before her due date.
    3. 3.  Did you have things ready at that point (ie, hospital bag packed, car seat installed) or was it more of a scramble?  We had most things packed but were sent home 10 hours before we went back to the hospital and was definitely ready the 2nd time around since contractions were still coming strong.
    4. How long did labor last?  Still don't really know if labor is just the pushing aspect but that took 3 hours.  The actual start of contractions until my dd was born was 35 hours without an epidural.  I went as natural as possible.

  • What were some signs that you were going into labor?
    Cramping, loss of mucus plug

Was DC born before, on, or after his/her due date?
    Born at 40w,6d

Did you have things ready at that point (ie, hospital bag packed, car seat installed) or was it more of a scramble?
    I was very ready. :)

    How long did labor last?
Really depends on when you start counting. I knew at 5:30am that I would have a baby that day, but my contractions weren't regular at all until 7:30pm, 3 hours before DS was born. So between 3 - 17 hours. :)

    How much did DC weigh??
    ?8lbs 8.6oz

    1. What were some signs that you were going into labor? I had cramps turns out they were contractions. I also lost part of my MP. My labor came on suddenly though, I went from 0 dilation and 0 effaced to 4 CM and 100% in a little over 24 hours. My contraction started out 7 mins apart.
    2. Was DC born before, on, or after his/her due date? By the pregnancy wheel the drs use he was 4 days early.  By my calculations by charting he was RIGHT on due date.
    3. Did you have things ready at that point (ie, hospital bag packed, car seat installed) or was it more of a scramble? I had mostly everything ready, DH didn't.  He packed while I labored down stairs.  We also didn't have the carseat in.
    4. How long did labor last? I went into labor at 6:30pm October 3rd and had him at 3:25 October 4th.
    5. How much did DC weigh? He was 8lbs.
