I have to rock by LO otherwise he won't sleep, he'll just cry & cry until he's pick up... I wish I didn't have to do that but I guess it's too late to break that habit now
I used to rock DS to sleep. It was my favorite part of the day. Then, one morning last week, I made the mistake of dancing around the living room w/ him. He got sleepy and fell asleep on my shoulder. Now, the only way he will go to sleep is if I dance around the room w/ him. It's exhausting.

we don't have a rocker, so we sway/walk to sleep. sometimes we can just sit on the couch with a paci in mommy's arms and fall asleep. I like those times.
we dont have to rock her to sleep to go to sleep- we do sometimes to alieve her tummy pains - when she gets colicky, its sometimes the only thing that will help (that or going outside)
We rock. I read yesterday in "No Cry Nap Solution" that 68% (2/3) of babies are rocked to sleep. Not as bad as some baby books will have you believe. I like rocking him, it's nice, quiet one on one time. When I go back to work I imagine I'll enjoy it even more.

I also have to do the dancing around routine, which doesn't bother me but after a while I do get tired what concerns me is that they probably won't do that for him at daycare and he'll just cry forever I have to figure something out to make him sleep on his own...
occiassionaly, but I will admit its mainly to serve my own selfish needs and she doesn't really need it. I miss her and want to snuggle her as much as possible since I dont see her all week!
Not because it was any kind of sleep training, but it was just never something that happened. My oldest was a hands-off baby (who turned into a don't touch me toddler). She wasn't into the rocking thing.
DD2 is cuddly, but she never sleeps. I could rock her from sun down to sun up and she wouldn't fall asleep.
DD3....sad to say, but I don't have a free hand to rock her at night because DD2 doesn't sleep and I'm up dealing with her!
They never liked pacifiers and they were never into the rocking. Sounds good, but DD1 is a thumbsucker and DD2 doesn't sleep at all, so I'd take a rocking habit over that any day!

I never did with any of them.
