Winter clothes shopping, what does DC need?

So my future MIL came over yesterday and watched E while we went out to a movie. Well when we get home E is sitting in a walker in a new outfit looking just as surprised as we were. He couldn't even touch the ground. Well I guess she wants to buy him a ton of stuff all the sudden. She asked me what he needs for winter clothes and to call her today bc a Carters outlet store is having a huge sale and she wants to go pick him up some things. So I'm thinking about it and I have no idea what all he needs.

So far I have this

Hats

Long sleeved onsies

Socks

Heavier Blankets

Jackets

What am I missing ladies and should I have winter stuff all the way to 9 months size its still kinda chilly here around that time. TIA

Re: Winter clothes shopping, what does DC need?

  • I'd suggest trying to find one of those fleece sleeper bag things that has the hole to fasten the carseat.  I don't know what they're called but I know they're a lifesaver.  I got one for my older sis when she had her last baby and she loved it.

Btw, i hope KS winter isn't anything like it was two years ago.  That icestorm still freaks me out sometimes.  I'm hoping to visit my family back home this winter and I do NOT want to run into that mess.

  • Heavier PJs? (like fleece or thermal)

  • Maybe some of the "running suits" that are jacket and pants that you can wear a long sleeved onesie under. I know Carters had some of those for girls. Thick socks. I like the bigger mittens that are supposed to protect scratching for trips between the car and where you are going just to add a little more warmth.

  • Please don't use anything in the carseat where you have thread the straps through.....

I always get a fleece zip up jacket for my girls for in the carseat (columbia has some really nice choices!!).   Baby legs make great long johns!   Long sleeved onsies, sweatpants, outfits with sweaters, warm socks, mittens, toques....
