Cocktail Dress

My DH has a formal work party in two weeks.  Literally, most of the wives wear ball gowns/prom gown type dresses to this event.  Yesterday, we went shopping for a dress for me to wear....I went up one size for the bloat and then had to go up another size for my boobs!  The dress was over $100!  I'm worried that in two weeks, either my bloat/boobs will go down, or everything will just continue to grow.  (This is my second child, so seem to be growing faster)

DH didn't think I needed a maternity dress, and I guess I didn't really want to spend the money on a maternity cocktail dress...but I'm worried now.  I guess I should of waited until the last minute, but I was afraid I wouldn't find anything.

I don't know what my point is....I'm just irritated and don't even want the hassle of attending this thing!

Re: Cocktail Dress

  • Can you try on the dress again a few days before the party, and if it doesn't fit, return it and get a different dress?

  • I hope so...my concern is just that this is not really a great time of year to be looking for those kind of dresses.  They seem to only be out for prom, homecoming and then the holidays.  I'm afraid I won't find one and have a total meltdown. (because, yes, I am THAT pregnant woman!)  I didn't buy a gown, because I just can't make myself wear those things, just a cocktail dress.
