2nd Trimester

What do you do...

To help you sleep through the night?  I seem to be tossing and turning constantly.  Any tips to help (even a little)?

Re: What do you do...

  • tylenol pm or benadryl are safe.

I have just been avoiding caffeine after lunch time and that seemed to help. My issue is more just getting up 5 times to pee at night.

  • No caffeine after 2 PM (it stays in your system for up to 6 hours) and I don't drink anything after 7PM (I go to bed at 9).

I also makes sure to pee twice before bed. Once at 8:30 and once at 9. It seems to help. I wake up at 4:30 (my normal wake-up time) with a SCREAMING bladder....but I sleep all night!

  • It helps me to sleep almost naked, Clothes bother me when I'm trying to sleep ha-ha. Plus the temperature in the room is a huge thing for me, I need it very cold in the room. If it's real bad, your doctor can prescribe you something!

This. But that's normal for me when I'm NOT pregnant, lol

  • The peeing is my problem - 6-7 times a night.  I've cut back fluids at night, nothing helps.

Ugh me to!! haha It was about 40 degress here last night in NC and I still had 2 fans on me, and windows open, In undies and a sports bra! hahaha My poor husband!

  • Not having coffee or even tea helps a lot but most importantly not having any liquids for at least 3-4 hours before going to bed.  And having a tums on my tongue to dissolve as I fall asleep (otherwise I wake up with horrible acid reflux in the middle of the night).  Sometimes not having slept the night before and being very tired helps too.
