it's just that I hate my job.
When I went into music education, it was specifically so that I could teach high school band. But when I graduated, there were no high school positions open. So I interviewed for what I could and ended up with this K-8 music position. Yes, I technically have a band and an orchestra, but it's not the same. My biggest class is 9 kids. I don't have a podium to stand on, and I don't use my baton when I conduct. We can't use regular band music, because I have to arrange everything to fit our instrumentation. And I'm sure I've mentioned before in my many posts complaining, I am also required to teach art, which I do not feel at all qualified to do.
I got this catalog in the mail and was looking through it. It had all kinds of equipment for high school band. My heart ached. Lately I've been thinking that maybe I'm just not cut out to be a teacher. But looking at that made me realize that I'm just teaching the wrong grades. There's hope.
Sorry for the rant and ramble.
Re: It's not that I hate my job
This is what I'm hoping. Someone's gotta retire sometime, right?
How are you feeling, TPS?
Eh, quite barftastic. The morning (and evening) sickness hit hard Saturday. I might try to get some meds from the MW at my appt today.
LE - I hope a HS position opens up soon for you! At least soon you will have a little baby to keep you busy:)
TPS - definitely ask for meds, that way you have them and can decide if you really want to use them. I'd ask for more than one type - the zofran that dissolves in your mouth can go either way for some people (it was awful for me but it seems that some women on the board swear by it). Phenergan however is my best friend.
If meds generally make you drowsy, tell them and ask for something that isn't supposed to put you right to sleep. I can't even take my meds when I'm working because they turn me into a zombie!
Sorry to hear that you are feeling bad. Hopefully your m/s won't last as long as mine!

I cannot do phenergen at all. It knocks me out for literally an entire day.
They gave me something that starts with an R. Couldn't tell you the name though because I have the generic. My MW said it shouldn't make me drowsy, but there's a warning on the label about it making you drowsy, don't operate heavy machinery, blah. blah. It's not as bad as the phenergen, but it still make me really sleepy!
Reglan?
Yep, that sounds about right!
