Babies on the Brain

The term "angel baby" (poll)

Re: The term "angel baby" (poll)

  • Personally, it annoys the h-e-double hockey sticks out of me. ?I'm not sure why. ?I have a baby who I think is an angel, but she's not an angel baby. ?Maybe it just sounds made up and "cutesy" to me.?

  • idk i am kind of both ways about it, i like the term "born sleeping" better for Kenzie

  • I hate the term. Partly because I think a piece of me will always be bitter than I lost a baby and partly because I think it's too frilly or something and takes away from the loss itself.

    If that makes sense.

    Perfect sense.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. ??

  • Hate it.

  • I like it. I'd much prefer it to "my dead fetuses" or "my dead daughter". Even though I know they're not really angels, it's comforting to me.

And I prefer "my daughter who passed".?

  • I don't really like angel baby, but I don't know what I would use instead.

  • I don't like the term, but I am glad to see more people acknowledging their losses.  Not that I'm glad they went through them by any means, but when DS passed I felt like the only one.  It wasn't until years later after I had my 2nd m/c and actually started talking about it that I found out so many people close to me had gone through a loss and didn't feel so alone.

I say yes we have a daughter but she passed. ?

I always feel guilty when someone asks that question. I normally say "yes, I have a son", instead of getting into it about my 3 m/c's and my stillborn.

I think when you feel right about answering it including the babies you lost, you will find a way that you feel comfortable with. ?

I hate this question.  Especially when I was pregnant with DD and people would ask if it was my first.  I usually just said yes, but then I'd feel guilty.  If I said no, I had a son who passed then it'd usually make for an awkward conversation.  I didn't like it being brought up on such a regular basis.  Idk.  I felt guilty a lot when I was pregnant with her. I didn't really enjoy my pregnancy with DS even before we found out something was wrong.

I usually get the "I'm so sorry" and then I change the subject. ?How, when and why is none of their business. ?

  • Weird, I thought I clicked no, but it said I voted yes. Hmmm
  • I am not a fan, but I am usually pretty blunt, even when it comes to my m/c's. I don't care for prettying things up or beating around the bush.
