Did you actually buy a bedding set or just get a few sheets and blankets?

Re: Clicky poll: Baby bedding.

  • Bought a bedding set.  The comforter is hung with quilt clips on the wall above the crib.  The skirting hasn't been used since Gabe was a newborn, along with the matching mobile.
  • Loading the player...
  • PBK sells their stuff a la carte. For Clay, I didn't bother with a bumper since I only used Finn's for a month or two.

We never bought blankets. We were given enough handmade ones as gifts to last us through ten kids.

  • We bought it all.  The comforter we used for the longest time for tummy time and play time.  We stopped using it once she started rolling around more.  And we used the bumper (gasp!) until she started moving a little too much in her crib and we saw her laying against the bumper.  Now we just use the sheets!

  • We bought a bedding set and use all the parts.  The bumper is in her crib and we use the blanket for her to play on.
  • I got a bedding set as a shower gift.  We use the sheet, dust ruffle, valence.  I used to use the comforter as a play blanket on the floor.  Have not used the bumpers, nor the diaper stacker.

Now that we're outgrown the need for a blanket on the floor, I want to hang it on the wall.

So I use half of it, and don't think it was a waste of money per se, but probably could have gotten away with a smaller set.

  • I bought a 10-pc set. Sheet, skirt, bumper, quilt, 3 wall hangings, 2 curtains, and a mobile.

Our windows are really wide, so I knew I wouldn't use the curtains. We have or will use all the rest. The only thing we haven't used so far is the quilt, but when she moves to a toddler bed, she will use that. I painted her room to match, so she will use it til she outgrows it!

Oh, we got a diaper stacker too. Maybe there was just one curtain? We didn't use the stacker.

  • My mom made a "Cars" crib bedding set. The quilt is huge and will be used later when he's in the daybed/toddler bed (covertable crib). But we use the bumper pad (other wise his feet get stuck between the rails and he screams), regular jersey knit sheets, and a cars bed skirt... I love it, lol.

  • I was just thinkig about this today, I wish I hadn't spent money on a comforter, we haven't used it and it is too plain to hang.  I was team green and it was hard to find neutral stuff I liked so when I did I spent way too much money on it at Restoration Hardware.

  • Also, my 10pc set was $75 on Overstock.com so I didn't care that I wasn't going to use it all. That wasn't enough money for me to worry about it. I figured if I was going to buy a bumper, sheet, wall decs and a matching quilt/blanket all separately, I'd hit that amount anyway.

  • We bought sheets, crib skirts (with coordinating window valances), and breathable bumpers. Several friends gave us baby blankets but we don't use them in the cribs; we swaddled for six months (SwaddleMes and Miracle Blankets) and now use sleepsacks.

  • We bought a set, but I got a cheap one at Target. I looked at some really expensive ones but by sheer luck liked Target best. I was just thinking the other day how GLAD I am that we didn't get an expensive set. We use the crib sheets (can't see them anyway), used the dust ruffle until we lowered the crib, and we keep the quilt draped over the glider. The bumpers are adorable but we never used them.

  • I knew I wouldn't use the bumper, but I was in love with the pattern so I shopped around on ebay till i found a good deal on a 6 piece set. We use the curtain, bedskirt, comforter (wall hanging), sheets and i actually used the diaper thing at first till he started pulling on it.

  • I bought PBK a la carte.  I bought the quilt because I knew I'd want it someday.  I bought the bumper, 3 sheets, 2 crib skirts (had one made into a valance) and the giant mobile that hangs from the ceiling.
  • We got the ultimate deal.  My mom was going to buy us our bedding for the shower gift... she let me in on what was going on before she bought it because she wanted to make sure I liked it.

It was a complete bedding set and it was on ebay.  It was a Sunday morning, and she ended up getting it for like, $45.  That included sheet, dust ruffle, comforter, decorative pillow, bumper, valance, and diaper stacker.

We have used all of it.  Not the comforter as much, but we will probably use it more as the weather gets colder.
