Pregnant after a Loss

Embarrased to Admit but I need HELP!

SOOO....I just worked 2 12 hour shifts in a row on my feet - and now my butt cheeks underneath are SO chaffed that they burn :( I think its from all the ahem, moisture downtown but oh my GOODNESS it kills!!

Anyone else experience this? What can I do to help it?

Not to mention I have gained alot of weight and alot is in my bum...so that may have alot to do with it.

  • I'm sorry that happened! DH has that happen he works in landscaping and outside all the time.  He uses ButtPaste! Or any kind of diaper rash cream helps!

  • I would definitely go for the butt paste.  One time my DH and I were on vacation in Belize and he had really bad chaffing from his swimming suit and I was reading the Aloe vera bottle and it said that it could be used for chaffing.  I put it on his "AREA of chaffing" and he almost started crying because it burned so bad.  So my rec. is to stay far from the Aloe.
  • I was having this issue last month when it was still so hot outside and I was having a lot of moisure issues too. I asked the Dr about using Desitin and he said that would be ok but suggested I try babypowder/cornstarch first to help keep the moisture down.

I agree with PP about the Aloe. Pure aloe is good but most of what you buy in the store has alcohol in it too and will cause some burning in the sensitive areas.

  • Pure cornstarch baby powder (no talc) will absorb moisture & prevent chaffing.  I've used it between my thighs & under my breasts.  It works very well - esp. on hot days.  DH also powders up his jock area to prevent chaffing during work-outs.

  • oh! one more thing. Not to be graphic or anything but try sleeping with no bottoms on tonight,. And when you get home and put on lounge clothes or whatever, try skipping the undies and go for lose bottoms. It helps things air out a bit.

  • I would def go for the baby powder! So sorry you're having this problem..my husband gets it all the time when he works on his feet like that. He goes for Gold Bond and baby powder and it works like a charm!

  • After your skin heals, I would also try "body glide" - it's a product that runners and other athletes use to prevent chafing on feet or thighs or bums. It's found at a sporting goods stores (like ***'s) and looks like a deoderant stick, so it's really easy to apply and use. I use it when I'm wearing skirts when it's hot outside or when I'm working out or playing volleyball.

  • I would take an extra pair of undies and change half way through your shift!  I am having the whole excess moisture issute as well.  I put on clean undies in the morning, change them when I get home from work, and then again when I go to bed...I can't stand that feeling!  Hope your buns feel better girl!
  • It won't help get rid of the chaffing I don't think, but putting some white deoderent in the creases helps. I've done this and it helps!
