Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Loss at 6-7 weeks?

I'm back here again :(

My last loss was at 14 weeks so I had a D&C, but this one is at 7 weeks and I'm not sure what to expect.  I stopped PIO on Friday when we got the news that it was a blighted ovum...so how long does it take to happen naturally?  My dr said she would prescribe me Cytotec if I haven't started bleeding in the next 2 weeks, but I think I'm going to call her tomorrow to get it now.  This is depressing sitting here just waiting to miscarry and I really dont want to drag it out any longer than I have to.

I havent quite processed this loss yet...still numb.  I found a lot of support on this board before and am so sad to see so many ladies here.

Re: Loss at 6-7 weeks?

  • So, so sorry for your loss.  Based on your siggy it sounds like you've had a rough go so far.

I had a D&C at 9 weeks, the baby was measuring 6 weeks.  I picked this over the cytotec because I wanted everything over with as fast as possible to we could begin to heal and start trying again soon.

  • I started spotting last Sunday and continued to have some spotting all week(spotting started at 7 days 6 weeks pregnant).  Friday I started having period like cramps.  Yesterday I had some bleeding and had some clots (only when I went to the bathroom, I wasn't really bleeding, but spotting). The cramps increased in intensity yesterday, but a tylenol helped significantly.  Today the bleeding has increased, and the cramps have significantly increased in intensity.  A tylenol has seemed to help slightly, but the cramps are very intense.  I am still not bleeding alot (not like a period at this point).

So, for me...my body starting spotting a week ago and things are just now really getting started with the m/c.  I have a doctors appt. tomorrow and if I haven't really started bleeding then I will request the meds to help speed things along.

  • My BO miscarriage (at 6w5d) only took about 3 days from first spotting to passing everything.  I took cytotec for the other loss (10w5d).  If I'm ever faced with this crappy situation again, I'll take cytotec rather than waiting.  The waiting sucks.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

  • Thanks for your replies.  I'm hoping to avoid the d&c this time, if possible.  Last time they didn't get everything and I had to go back and do it again months later...plus I'm scared of doing it too many times and having scarring.  I'm definitely going to call and get the Cytotec tomorrow...I hope this doesn't drag out :(
  • I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you & am so sorry for your loss. I hope you are able to get things over with soon.

  • I took Cytotec last Monday and it was painful for about 3 hours but nothing a few painkillers couldn't help with.  Much better than waiting it out.  Trust me!  So sorry for your loss.  Take care of yourself.
