1st Trimester

no sex.... sort of tmi?

Because I had a m/c late last year and PCOS I am considered high risk. I was told by my doctor that I cannot have sex or exercise for the time being. Does that mean we can't do anything else? I wasn't exactly sure and I wish I had asked when I was there. I am afraid to let my husband touch me at all!??

Re: no sex.... sort of tmi?

  • pelvic rest might be about penetration or it might be because when you 'O' your uterus contracts.  I'd call the doctor on monday and confirm.  It would he a shame to do nothing unless you HAVE to do nothing.

  • I was told no sex = no "o." But I would call your doctor to clarify, because everyone is different...

  • That's what I was afraid of. I miss the closeness more than anything else... We were having sex every other day for the past year and a half TTC, and then bam, nothing at all.I know it will all be worth it though.
  • My doctor told me the same thing.  We had a MC last year, and I remember every time we did have sex I would spot, so this time no chances Sad.  You are right, it will be all worth it.

  • I was told no penetration and no 'o'. Of course, there were no limits on what I could do for H.... Confused

Actually though, while I couldn't, he wouldn't let me do anything for him. He said if I was off limits, he was too. Fine by me! LOL

    So it goes.
  • I feel for you.  I will be on pelvic rest my entire 3rd tri and last time that was my horniest time.  I am high risk because I had PPROM. Ditto everyone else.  No organisms.

  • Yep no O for me either :(........I was hoping that I would be given the all clear when I go to my next appointment on Oct 5. but I am afriad it may not happen.  Last night I had a rather "exciting" dream and had an O in my sleep.  I then got a tiny amount of brown spotting today that I think may have been caused by the O.  Ugh......this makes me so nervous that I may harm the baby if I have an O but I may go crazy if I can't have sex the whole 9 months!
  • Thanks ladies, at least I feel better knowing I'm not alone....

I haven't had a sleep O yet but I wouldn't be surprised if that happens sooner rather than later. Augghhhhhh!
