DH works for our fair city. It sucks so much because the premiums for just him would be around 60/month but for me + him it's 421. SHEESH.
Goldylocks (you are the former mrs something to do with agriculture right ??)
ohhh I'm good!! I'm on a break right now to lose weight and finish this semester of law school, I'm doing an HSG in late November or December and then starting TTC with a vengeance! Wahoo.
oh and I would like to add that this is the insurance that covers police/firefighters who are out there busting their behinds to keep the city safe and the families of these brave people get screwed. Poo.

Yes, that' me. I always forget that I changed my sn and I feel like people are just supposed to know me.

That makes me sick.
I'm a teacher in NC and my insurance is free, but it sucks so bad that we save money by paying for me to be on DH's policy.
sometimes it's cheaper to go without any insurance at all. Save the money you would be paying premiums with every month, and then when you see the Dr or have a service done at the hospital, you may qualify for an uninsured rate which is lower.
Here where I live, we give folks sans insurance a 49% discount, then they can pay the balance over time interest-free, or apply for charity which will wave the remainder if you qualify.
I think about doing that sometimes, but then I look at the emergency surgery for my ectopic which, if uninsured, would still have cost me about 20K (I was billed for 35K since I was insured) and I just couldn't have been able to pay that. So, I stay on my hyper-expensive insurance.
Re: I hate DH's insurance
That sucks!
On the other hand, it's good to "see" you! I haven't talked to you in a while. How've you been?

Sounds like you have a great plan. Good Luck!

You know, I know that's bad, but it seems to be about the same for everyone. Or worse.
Try this: Monthly premiums: $1700. Deductible: $6K.
Woof.
