There could be a number of reasons...you need to go number 2, you aren't drinking enough water, you're bladder is full, Braxton Hicks...all of these have given me aches and pains. They usually go away when I find out what the culprit is. It's weird because it's like you all of a sudden feel something new that you've never felt before, but it usually turns out to be simple pregnancy aches! So unless they are constant, painful, and anywhere from 3-5 minutes apart for more than half hour, I wouldn't worry.
I started getting this around 35 weeks while I am sleeping... feels like menstrual cramps but it stops and doesn't happen through the day so I didn't think anything of it. Well apparently they are contractions and doing something because I yesterday I had it happen while I was hooked up to my NST and the dr said that it was a real contraction and did an internal and I am 1cm dilated so now I just have to watch for them being more consistent.

They definitely felt like menstrual cramps and slowly subsided as the day approached. I couldnt sleep they were so umcomfortable and coincided with backache so I was a bit concerned. Now today during day I feel okay. I dont have OB apt. until Wed so didnt know if this was urgent enough to get an earlier appointment. Sounds like what you have ilenegrace. Thanks!
