Babies: 0 - 3 Months

I'm calling it STTN...damnit.

Joaquin was never one to go anywhere near sleeping through the night until welllllll after two.  I was fine with it, I didn't worry and freak out over it and went with the flow.

Now Isela is totally different.  Again, I'm super whatever about the whole STTN thing, but last night she went from around 9pm to almost 5am.

Is this my child?!?!  Really??

I thought it was pretty amazing and each night she has been going longer and longer...too bad I was up half the night trying to soothe and cuddle the big boy and his fever to really enjoy it.  But hey, whateves...I'm calling it sleeping through the night...even if it was only once ;)

  • Go Isela!

So... are you not supposed to "call STTN" until it's consistent? I've always wondered.

Anyway, you deserve this if Joaquin didn't do it until after 2. It's your karma!

  • Yay! That's pretty amazing. Go Isela!

Hopefully she'll keep it up once J's feeling better and you can all sleep well soon.

  • Wow, thats awesome - congrats!

  • I thought Leighton was STTN bc all week long she slept from 10:30pm until 9:30am!!!  I was so excited until yesterday she was so cranky and fussy and only wanted to be held she would not nap and I could tell she was tired.  She didn't go down until after 11:30pm and woke up at 4:30am which is still pretty good but darn I thought for sure since she didnt sleep and she was soooo tired that she would be out all night long.  After 4:30 she woke up again at 8:30 and she is fighting it right now I can hear her making noises in her crib.  Maybe she will go back to 11 hours tonight??  I hope!
  • Wow! Thats great. Enjoy your sleep. I'm jealous.

I have no idea what *really* constitues STTN. I've heard the 5 hour thing, which she does quite often these days and I've heard the whole night like 9-7 thing. Um, yeah.  Not counting on that, I think my boobs would explode!

This little girl is so way more mellow than J, it's kind of unbelievable.  Makes me realize just how high needs J was.  I mean he's a cool kid, but just needs lots of lovin'!  Isela doesn't even comfort nurse, she eats and is done, no need to dawdle.  J...he was on the boob for HOURS!

It's funny how different kids can be :)

Yeah, the last thing I'm going to do is expect it to happen all the time.  Babies have their nights & phases where they sleep great and others where they don't. I'm just pretty excited it's happening at all!

  • Awesome! I'd call it STTN too.

DD has been going 9-10 hour stretches all week, and did 11 hours last night but woke up twice for about 10-15 mins. each time (diaper changes & feeding) and I still am calling it STTN because 30 mins out of 11 hours is nothing (and she never fully woke up either).

I hope your little guy gets to feeling better and your DD keeps this up so you can get a full nights sleep soon :)

  • HOORAY!!! I would def. call that STTN! I bet you feel like a new woman today
