3rd Trimester

anyone else not know their baby's position?

I asked a few weeks ago, and my dr. said he is not concerned until the last 3 weeks--so I am sure I will find out at my upcoming appointment.  I am so curious whether he is breach or transverse--I always feel him "kicking" in my right side and right hip--the anticipation/worry is killing me.

Re: anyone else not know their baby's position?

  • Can you not feel the hiccups?  My baby was breech, and at the time I could feel the hiccups pretty high.  One day, all of a sudden the hiccups were below my belly button, and I knew she had turned.  Also, when she was breech, I felt her kick my bladder all the time, and once she turned, my bladder got some relief!

  • I thought I did now I'm not to sure anymore. The doctor made a guess on Monday, she THOUGHT she was head down but said that it could be her butt...

Oh yeah I forgot about this. Her hiccups are down low so she has to be head down.

  • Our LO is breech and she has been the whole time. A month ago at our ultrasound she had both feet down, but apparently that wasn't comfy for her. She has since moved one leg by her face. DH looked at me and said "We need to discuss with her that is not a very lady like position". My dr said at this point she more than likely will not move positions. You can go to spinningbabies.com to find different techniques to do or some doctors use aversion (sp?) to get LO to move. I would ask your doctor what s/he recommends. Some drs don't use aversion because the babies end up changing positions back to how they were.

  • i have absolutely no idea which direction LO is facing, or what position she is in. i couldnt even pretend to try and know what i am feeling where when shes kicking around like a karate kid :) i have an appt. friday with my OB though, so hopefully he can shed some light on the situation then!
  • ok try not to worry too much 96-97% of babies turn before labor begins,  my first doctor has seen one turn on the operating table before a c-section.   Sometimes its hard to tell my kicks, hiccups and also movements in general, and sometimes they just dont know unless they do an ultrasound.  they can usually tell by pushing around. unless youve had a breech baby or family history i wouldnt worry.  None of my moms turned until days before labor every woman is different.
