Color me underwhelmed.
This isn't the Grey's I know and love. It's too bloated with characters to be able to effectively focus on the originals and their interactions with each other and their patients. I loved the laughing scene at the funeral because it brought back memories of the awesomeness that was seasons 1 and 2.
When exactly did the Chief become a major douchebag? Seriously? Two seasons ago he wanted to leave. Now, instead of leaving and relenquishing chief to Derek, he forced the board to merge Seattle Grace with Mercy West? Haaaaate. I hope they get rid of Arizona and Lexi. Neither of those characters is necessary, IMHO.
My favorite line in the entire episode: "That's right! I said RUE." I love me some Torres.
Unable to even.

Re: Grey's Anatomy (Spoiler-iffic)
I was actually relieved that it was a reasonable plot line, although, it was all over the place.
At least there were no more voices, or sex scenes going on in Izzy Stevens' brain. That story line drove me effing crazy. I get it, she had a tumor and was hallucinating, but seriously?? She was having sex with a dead guy. Seriously??
I love that show though. Glad it's back. And I loved the scene between George's mom and Owen. That was wonderful!!
The only Easter Bunny I can get behind.

Yeah, they could pare it down - and your'e right, Torres and her girlfriend whatever her name is could go. THey're boring now.
So the Chief forced the merger? I missed that. What are they going to do with a merger? Add 20 more characters?
I agree I liked the core gang. But I did think this was a pretty good episode. I held out hope there for a minute that George wasnt' really dead though and I totally cried when it was him AGAIN.
Arizona could go - but I like Lexi and I like McSteamy with her, so I hope she stays.
I wasn't impressed with the chief either....not exactly his best moments.
I am completely over Izzy. Last season did her in for me....I hope she's one that's cut.
Torres, on the other hand, stole the show - I'm with CG, the best line of the night was "that's right, I said RUE".
How do I not remember this line or even know what your'e talking about?
I do like Lexi and McSteamy.
What do you think about Christina's damaged guy? I hope they move on past that part at some point. IT's getting old IMO. I like him though. ANd I do want someone to soften her up.
I miss George.
It was right after Torres blew up at the Chief about the attending position, so about 15 minutes into the 2nd hour, I think.
Torres storms out of the Chief's office with the Chief trailing behind. They're walking on that walkway in front of the big windows. She's still yelling at him and stops, turns to him, and says something like, "You'll rue the day you let me go, Chief", then she takes a few steps, turns around, does this gangsta flex thing with her arms and says, "That's right! I said RUE."
I like Christina's damaged guy and I think he'd be a good way for her to soften up a little. I still think she's a good "voice of reason" for the others since she doesn't get emotionally involved with her patients, but I'd like to see her become less socially awkward.
I miss George, too. I really didn't like what they did to him last season. It's like they just gave up on the character after the Izzie/George/Callie thing. They should have given up on Izzie, really. I didn't like George and Callie together very much, but I thought that George would have been good with Lexi.
