My favorite thing to do at the fair is eat ... lol.
We also really like looking at the car show, watching the sheepdog herding show, the pig races and riding the Texas Star (which is expensive, but it's a permanent ride ... I don't 'do' carnival rides that are taken apart and put together every few weeks, lol).
You MUST have a Fletcher's cornydog.
You can also view the animals that are showing, theres a petting zoo, a farm activity area for the kids, lots of boothes selling things, music acts, a haunted house etc.
PP nailed it right on the head. Those are our favorite things to do too! The bird show is entertaining as is a nice stroll through the gardens. The butterfly exhibit is supposed to be open this year.
Fletchers...mustard...yum! Chocolate covered frozen bananas are great too. Giant corn on the cob. If you can find fried oreos-try them!
Thinking I will pass on the fried butter this year but will probably try the fried peaches and cream!
~ Diagnosed with PCOS in March 2009. Taking Metfomin for insulin resistance and irregular cycles/ovulation.
Had healthy baby girl in Jan 2010 via C-Section (HTN and Breech Presentation). ~ Miscarry at 8 weeks with D&C in May 2011 (low progesterone). ~ Had a healthy baby girl in June 2012 via C-Section (on prometrium to sustain). ~ Surprise pregnancy at age 40! Baby boy due April 26, 2021 (took prometrium to sustain once pregnancy was confirmed, 3rd C-Section planned).
Love the pics, Totty! And the fair looks like a great place for a pregnant lady (as far as the eating goes). Although I think I will stay away from the fried butter, TYVM!

That was my dream... to be pregnant at the fair. I didn't quite make it. DS was born 3 weeks before the fair started!
