    seriously, can that even be true?  i mean, someone probably edited and made up the story.  i could never see that happening.

    but could you imagine carrying around a baby that big?  that's insane if it is really true.

    Wanna know what is really crazy? That's not even the biggest baby ever born! The biggest one was over 20 lbs. Yikes!! This was on the news yesterday. The moment I saw that I thought "That Mom had to have had gestational diabetes."

    I saw this yesterday.  That is just insane!  DS weighed 19lbs at 12 months!  Did she know that she had GD?  Not all diabetics have big babies, it just depends if you can keep your blood sugar under control or not.  I am a type 1 diabetic and DS was not big at all (6lbs 9 oz).

    I think that if it goes untreated or undiagnosed they can. Like Sept said. This baby was born in Indonesia. I have no idea what kind of healthcare they have over there but my guess is that this woman was not treated for her GD.

    GD moms can have bigger babies..

    I read a Yahoo article that said the mom had diabetes... but did not say whether it was GD, Type 1 DM or Type 2 DM.
