Did you all wash your babies clothes before they arrived or did you keep tags on them? I was just curious because most of my friends said they washed them all first with dreft but others have said they didn't. They said they left them with tags on because if there lo didn't fit in them then they could be returned for a bigger size. Also, do all of there clothes need to be washed prior to them wearing them. TIA !!
What are your thoughts?

I washed all the NB and 0-3 month stuff before she was born, in Dreft. And I'm glad I did, because it took a long time to cut all those tags! The packaging for baby clothes is ridiculously complicated.
The bigger stuff, I still haven't cut the tags or washed, because she still hasn't gotten big enough to even fit into the bigger cut 0-3 month stuff.
IMHO, clothes need to be washed prior to wearing in case of any residual chemicals from the manufacturing process. I didn't want to take the chance that she'd have an allergic reaction.
IMO Dreft is a huge waste of money and I use regular detergent. I kept the tags on most of them so I could exchange depending on DD's size. Which was a good thing because DD was in the 25th percentile for the first couple months and shot up to the 95th percentile by 4 months. I do wash them before she wears them. DD was born in April, so I had some spring type 0-3 clothes she couldn't wear until June that I exchanged for more weather appropriate clothes.
This, too. But my DD was born in summer, so we kept her in only a diaper most of the time, since skin is easier to clean than clothes. Since your baby is going to be born in the winter, you may want more clothes washed and on hand than the pp or I used.
I washed all NB and 0-3 clothes. I am glad that I didn't because it took forever to get all of the tags off!
I would wash all clothes before LO wears them. You don't have to use Dreft to can just use a "free" detergent.
