15dpo beta

I know you guys must HATE when a newly pregnant lady with her first betas bounces over here to ply you with "could I be having twins?" questions.

But.

I just got my first beta result today -- drawn at (we're guessing) 15dpo (maybe earlier, since I got a + hpt 6 days before this beta draw).

It was 2521.

In your opinion, is this more likely a a) healthy singleton pg, b) a multiples pg, or c) a blighted ovum.....?

I have no idea what to prepare myself for.  We are out of town for a week, so I don't have an u/s with MFM until 10/5.  That's a freakin' long time to wait for answers given my TTC history.

TTA.

Re: 15dpo beta

  • I don't have an answer. I just wanted to wish you luck. It must be very unsettling to have to wait for answers. I hope you find out soon and that you get the best possible news. FWIW, I had a blighted ovum and my numbers were never unusually high. GL.

  • Wow -- I will say that is super, super high.

Mine was 234 at 14dpo and at the time I was carrying triplets.  I didn't get a BFP until 8dp3dt (11dpo).  Are you positive of when you O'd?

Congrats on your pg -- when is your first u/s?  I hope you able to get a wonderful view of your healthy baby(ies) then!!!

  • Mine were 698 at 15dpo.

  • Thank you guys for your gracious responses.  As I can see from a post above me, I KNOW that it must get tiring to be invaded...

FWIW, I have googled, and talked to my doctor.  It's just that I HAVE to wait for my u/s, short of going to the ER here in OH.

Anyway.....thank you for understanding the motivation behind my question.  I know only time will tell.  But after so many losses....I just learn to prepare for the worst, never the best.

  • I had to wait until we got back from vacay for my first beta. It was at 21dpo and was 7067. Good luck trying to be patient. I know it's hard.
  • I don't know anything about betas but just wanted to say good luck!

  • My beta with triplets at 14 dpo was 240 (I think... i can't even remember for sure.. it was definitely two something).  So yeah, that is pretty high if your dates are right.  Doctors will always tell you it doesn't mean anything but it seems like it does.  There was a site i remember looking at that gave the odds of mutliples depending on your beta each day.... beta something.  wish i could remember it.

Anyway - tons and tons of luck to you!! Hope it all works out great.

  • i didn't have betas drawn, i just wanted to wish you the best, no matter what happens.

  • I didn't have betas drawn either, but Good luck to you!!!
  • Mine was 292 at the equivalent of 14dpo (did IVF).  If you're really 15dpo, that sounds quite high, and I wouldn't be shocked if it's multiples.

Did you have any reason, other than beta numbers, to suspect it's more than one?

Best of luck to you!  I know the early days are super, super stressful... and must be especially so for you.

  • check out betabase.info

    No guarantees though.

  • My betas are in my siggy.  GL to you!!!

  • I am wondering the same thing! Mine 10dp5dt was 537 and increased to 1708 13dp5dt. Trying to patiently wait 1 1/2 weeks until my first ultrasound!
  • Mrs. MSG! I didn't even know you were expecting again. WOW! Congratulations!!

Unfortunately betas just can't really tell. You could be later along than you think, or yes, it could be more than one.  I know you are dying to find out.. it seemed to take FOREVER until our first ultrasound.

Good luck and I am crossing my fingers for a good, healthy u/s!
