Trying to Get Pregnant

Anyone taking Vitex?

My Natropath just put me on Vitex and Vitanica Pregnancy Prep (a herbal supplement made by another Naturopath here in Oregon https://www.vitanica.com/supplements_10.htm until I can get my CD 19bloodwork done.  Curious if anyone else is taking Vitex?

  • I have been taking Vitex for three months now. It has really helped with my acne, cramps, and LP. What did your Neuropath say about it?
  • I didn't have a period naturally for  months and then I started taking Vitex. That very cycle I O'd naturally and never had a problem since. Granted, after one full cycle of Vitex I did 3 cycles of clomid (didn't mix them of course). Dh and I decided to take a break from clomid and I have taken Vitex instead and O'd naturally last cycle and hope to O again on it. Also, my LP is very long- 16 days.
  • She SWEARS by it. Puts all her IF patients on it. She told me it really helps to regulate hormones, promote fertility and all kinds of stuff about prepping the uterus for pregnancy.

That is great to hear. How much of each are you taking? Vitanica actually has Vitex in it, so do you just need additional Vitex in your system?

I obviously haven't gotten pregnant yet, but I really do feel better since I have been taking it.

She has me on the liquid form. Says the pill form is not nearly as effective. I take two dropper full a day.  She mentioned Vitanica has Vitex but not enough and it's not liquid form so the additional droppers are needed.

I take liquid Vitex, too. I might have to go on my lunch break tomorrow and check out Vitanica at Whole Foods. Did she say that they definitely need to be taken together, or will Vitex also be effective by itself?

They do not have to be taken together. Vitex is good on it's own. She just likes and added herbal benefits of Vitanica. She told me to take 2 capsuls of Vitanica, 2 droppers of Vitex, keep up with my B-complex and Calcium and PNV that have DHA/EPA (Women's One a Day PNV version). I asked about Green Tea and she actually had not heard about it increasing CM and was more concerned about it's absortion issues with other vitamins and how you cannot drink it once pregnant and suggested I stop drinking it since Vitex and Vitanica will really help with CM anyway. Plus 8 glasses of water a day is important.

Well, it sounds like I am in good shape then. The only thing that you listed that I don't take is Vitanica. I have never been a green tea fan...and luckily I have plenty of fertile CM on my own. I am excited to hear that I am possibly on the right track. Thanks for all your info!
