Wow, someone in my town named their baby Bruce. I mean, I have an uncle named Bruce, but he's like 50. Poor kid. I hope there is a good reason for the name, but the dad's name is John.
While I would never use it, it doesn't bother me. It's a traditional boys name so it wont' be misprounced or misspelled and there wont' be 4 in his class!
It's better than some of the crazy names I have heard.
I laughed sooo hard when I saw this post! DH just told me the other day that this is his all time favorite boy name. Yes, seriously. It was an automatic veto for me of course. But it proves there are people out there with just plain strange taste, apparently DH is one of them...
I don't think it is an unfortunate name at all. I think it is a good, solid name and a million times better than Jaeden, Caeden, Braeden, etc.
I agree. Besides, I'm a HUGE Bruce Springsteen fan!
TTC #1 for over 5 years - too many to count IF treatments (tried everything and anything), repeat miscarriages.
Finally, Sticky Success!! B/G Twins arrived 2011.
I'm very surprised at this post. I was going to say, "Yes, use it!" I really like this name! Poor kid? REALLY? I would rather be named Bruce than these trendy ridiculously overused names.

It's my deceased father's name, and we were thinking about using it....we're definitely using it for the middle if not first. I think it's a really strong name....and it's a lot better than the made up names that people have today. To each their own if you don't like it, but I don't think it's a name that anyone should think, "poor kid".
This is kinda how I feel about some of the names people are using like Charles, Harrison, and Henry that have become popular lately. I guess Bruce is better than the stupid names like Aiden, Caden, Jayden, Brayden...I can go on because there are way too many annoying spellings too.?

All I think of is

It makes me think of Bruce Campbell and that's a pretty good association to me!

This, and this. Totally. I think it's great. Bruce is so much better than all the wimpy names people are naming their boys these days.
That is hillarious! Totally what I thought too!
What she said. It's not on my list, but I think it's a fine name. I like short, simple boys' names that seem a little old-fashioned.
I don't mind Bruce at all either!!
It will probably come back around and be super popular in a few years like Max, Sophia and all the other 'old' names
It's nice, solid and ahead of the curve
