"serious questions get ignored"

If I look on a page and see that someone has zero responses, I will try to leave a comment or answer their question, if I can. While I do love me some bump drama, I am often helpful and try to be supportive, when applicable.

I understand it's frustrating that "serious" questions don't get 10 responses while bump drama generates 2 pages of comments.

However, don't we all know by now how this works? This site is for entertainment first.

(fwiw, I'm glad there are off boards and anti clique cliques and so on and so forth so that ladies can connect on a deeper level with other ladies.)

Re: "serious questions get ignored"

  • ITA- I wish there were more responces but I guess there are only so many ways to same similar things.

  • That was my experience. It was just vastly different from the tri boards. For example, just yesterday someone on 0-6 posted about her and her LO's exposure to H1N1 and was asking about the incubation period. And no one responded.

I wouldn't respond to a question like that because I don't know the answer.  Any info I gave would be from google or my pedi and she could've done the same search/phone call.  If I see a serious question I answer it if I can.  Unless of course there are 5 other answers with the same reply I'd have given.

Yep that's how it works.  Some people like it, some don't.  Those that don't are free to leave aren't they?

    yep; and they obviously have!

  • Isn't that the way it works IRL a lot as well?

Well, I ultimately responded because the info is right there on the CDC website. Yes, it was easily googled, but maybe she doesn't have the time or knowledge on how to find it. It was an easy answer to provide.
