Q from 3rd: Preg. Induced Hypertension

If you were diagnosed with pregnancy induced hypertension, when did you deliver?

My doctor says if I can keep my BP under control, he will let me stay pregnant, but if not he wants to induce at 37 weeks. I know everyone is different, but I'm a student, and I'm trying to prepare myself and my professors for all the possibilities. If I can keep him in until 40 weeks my semester will be over- if not I am going to have to start working on that situation now.

I monitored my BP from home and got twice weekly ultrasounds. I actually went to 40w 2d (went into labor on my own) and everything turned out great.

I was induced at 38 weeks (due to low fluids and small measurements on DD) but actually didn't get diagnosed with the hypertension until after delivery, although my blood pressure was always borderline throughout the last trimester but blood work never showed anything to be concerned about. I ended up being on blood pressure meds for the first 6 weeks after delivery. I thought it was strange that I didn't get the diagnosis until afterwards. Good luck

I delivered at 39w and 5days, planned c-section. My blood pressure did creep up slowly at the end. In the hospital after the birth of DS, it was at the highest it ever was. Just keep an eye on it and try not to stress to much.

My Dr. induced me right at 40 wks...I was put on bedrest for a few weeks prior and made it just fine. GL

I was put on bedrest at 27 weeks. At my 37 week appointment my doctor said my BP was too high and I was induced at 37 weeks 3 days.

I went in for my 37 week appt. I was sent to triage to be monitored they sent me home on strict bedrest and I had to do a 24 hour urine collection. That was on a Tuesday I went back to the hospital on Thursday my BP was even higher in the (160s/90s at one point) than Tuesday my protein in my urine was 700 something (it is suppose to be around 300) I had hyperreflexes and was really really swollen. Needless to say they told me I was not going home with an inside baby. I had a forced induction they started me on cervidal that night. I was not even .5cm dialated when I went in. Everything went fine both baby and I had to be on some meds while we were still in the hospital. I did not deliver him until Saturday morning but we are both doing great now! My BP was back to normal within a week of delivery.

I was scheduled to be induced at 39 w 1 d, but went in at 38w 6 d and they induced me that night. My doc put me on bedrest at week 38, but until then I was monitoring it every 3 hours (except while sleeping) & had nonstress test.
