3rd Trimester

I wish that men could experience one day of being 9+months pregnant...

Why is it that men can act like total babies when they have one bad night of sleep, a stuffy nose, etc. ?  Then, when a pregnant lady voices a discomfort, it's all "ooooohhhh, don't upset the hormonal pregnant lady!".  Grrrrr....  I wish men had to experience just 24 hours of being hugely pregnant!

  • They couldn't take a day of it.

  • Yeah, maybe then they wouldn't make so many azzy comments!

  • My DH is completely clueless.  If I complain about my hips or back hurting, he always says (without fail and completely seriously), "Why?"  But then if he gets less than 7 hours of sleep he whines all day about being tired.  I would KILL for 7 hours these days!

  • Yes!  DH has a head cold and he is acting like he is going to die.  While I haven't had a decent nights sleep in months, my back hurts non-stop and I have freaking heartburn EVERYDAY!  They just don't understand.

    True.  And go Bears!

  • Men aren't strong enough to handle pregnancy. That's why women carry the babies.
  • Agreed!

Disclaimer: my DH has been absolutely wonderful and has understood what it takes to be pregnant, but it'd still be nice for men to actually FEEL it all.

  • My childbirth class instructor had all the dads put a 25lb backpack on backwards like a belly and then she asked each of them to do different things... she had DH sit down and try to tie his shoes... LOL I remind him of this whenever he whines about having a headache!
  •   My husband has been mostly great, but this morning I almost lost it.  He wants us to do all of this stuff on Saturday, and I just can't.  I get 2 days a week to relax, and when I only sleep tiny amounts each night, I count on my Saturday afternoon naps.  If we have to go out with friends on Saturday night, I don't want to do stuff during the day!!!  I was telling him that I'd rather meet him out on Sat. night after he finishes up all of his other plans, and he's like "why don't you come with me''.  I was like "you don't really understand how exhausted I am, do you?", and he was like "whatever...".  Grrr!  Not a good start to the day.

  • Men would have an epidural going from the first 6 weeks until delivery if they were pregnant and not us
  • I wish my husband could experience one day too...especially when I was extremely sick on top of it. Oh if they only knew they would never complain again!!
