i really feel like i need a break - just one day - from the endless work of being a parent with a full-time job. dh suggested that we both take off work on a weekday, but still send ds to daycare (we pay either way).
i'm feeling totally guilty about this, but i think it will be good for my health and sanity to spend a day in bed watching movies.
has anyone done this? what do you think??
Re: using daycare for a day off?
I usually do this to get stuff done around the house. I will take him in late and pick him up early though.

I always keep my nanny when I have a day off. I get stuff done, do something for myself, and then let her go home early.
Don't feel guilty. It is much deserved!!
I have done it a couple of times (without DH) and it is really nice (minus the little bit of guilt). Each time has become a little bit easier. I have done the early drop off and early pick up sometimes depending on the day.
I also used the time once to spend some extra time at day care just talking to the teacher. I normally don't get to spend this time there so that was kind of nice too.
Enjoy your time if you take it!
I've done it and I do it, guilt free. Not all the time but sometime you need to for your sanity, for the sleep, for getting things done, or just being lazy. I don't do it often but I think it's a need back we all need.
DO IT!!
DO IT!! And don't feel guilty about it, at all. Period. Mommies need their time off to recharge their sanity meter. Seriously.
