What are some of your "must have before the baby comes if only I had the money" items?

I want a new digital camera and video camera to take pics and videos of the baby. Definitely a luxury, but I'm crossing my fingers for the holidays.

Other than the obvious things for the baby, I really can't think of anything. We have a brand new camcorder and a pretty new camera.

If I had to pick something, a big comfy chair for the nursery.

We are looking at video cameras also. DH wants to get an HD one and I'm a little leary on it. I'm not so sure I want to see myself in HD.

I was actually just talking about that with SO the other day that I really want a video camera. My grandparents always had one when we were growing up and we have some fun home videos of my sister and me during the holidays or the days they came over to visit. I am also hoping for the holidays to hopefully get one! We shall see!

Ok, this is extreme...but a new kitchen! Lol. We've updated everything else but have waited on the kitchen b/c its the most expensive. But i sware, its the original kitchen...the appliances are maybe 10-12 years old. We're working on it though, so maybe!!

This, we have a nice camcorder, my Mom is getting us a nice camera for Christmas. The only thing I really want is a nice chair for nursery but not sure if we'll end up getting one.

ditto the camera and video camera, DH broke our digital camera... and a big comfy chair would be great too... depending on DH's tips (he's basically a paper boy) we might get it.. he got $1000 last year plus $300 in gift cards...

My MIL found a glider at a garage sale and it is in perfect condition. I got it two years ago but still really nice.

Yeah, but in 10 years HD will be the standard, so today's standard is going to look like garbage in comparison.

I want a fixed portrait lens and a decent zoom lens for my DSLR before baby comes. My point & shoot camera has video capabilities, and since I'm not that concerned about the video quality, I will probably just stick with that for live action unless Hubby wants to get an HD cam or if someone wants to buy one for us.

This is also kind of odd, but I want to replace the kitchen faucet fixture. The faucet we have now seems like it's lower than it needs to be, and I would like to have something with a sprayer, as that sink is most likely where baby will be bathed (we don't have a tub). Of course, everything I like is like $200-$600, which really seems excessive right before baby arrives.

We have a great camera and a nice camcorder so I would love for DH to have a new car. His is older and scares my safety wise, but it's paid off and that is what we have for now.

This post got me thinking about how nice a camcorder would be... DH has an old one from, say, 7-10 years ago, but I know a newer one would probably work a little better (dunno if his even works anymore).

But my big must have but can't afford item is a glider... My dad has been hinting that he'll buy it for me (he thinks they're just as important as a crib and diapers, lol), but I have no idea how that'll pan out. Sigh.... Guess we'll see...

I'm so asking for a camcorder for Christmas now... lol

I also want a new digital camera, mines pretty outdated. I think I;m going to ask for that for Christmas.

What I would really like is for someone to remodel our basement, so we can finish the nursery. All of my husband's dead animals (taxidermy) are in the baby's room right now because our basement isn't done!

I would really like Rock Band- Beetles and the Wii. Kind of silly but, DH and I actually enjoy playing video games. We've worked hard for what we do have, and this would be soooooo fun.

Also, a couple days at the spa before the baby comes wouldn't hurt. Big Smile I'm sure DH already has at least 1 planned for me already.

My "must have" is a "have not".. I wish we had our cars paid off by the time baby was born.. because then we might be able to have me SAH.. the 2 payments combines are about 1000 bucks, and I bring home about 1500 a month..

:::SIGH::: that's what happens when your young and stupid and want nice cars...

we already have a digi camera and a nice camcorder...

OH! OH! OH! I really *need* a double stroller.. but i've found some nice ones on craigs list!

Being newlyweds we have been using our wedding money to fix up out home. Now we're just trying to get things done all at once before the baby comes when we thought we would have a little more time to do them. We have waterproofed our basement, got it painted, and tiled our kitchen, dining area, and halls. Now the tile doesn't match our countertops so I would like new ones but I think I would rather pay off debt then spend a grand on countertops. I would also like to get our hardwood floors refinished since the previous owners of our home ruined them. We'll see, one step at a time!

I WOULD LOVE TO UPGRADE MY DSLR CAMERA AND ALSO TO RE-DO OUR BATHROOM. I HAVE A FEELING THE CAMERA WILL END UP BEING A COMBINED BIRTHDAY/CHRISTMAS/1ST ANNIV GIFT FROM DH. THE BATHROOM IS DEFINITELY IN THE BUDGET BUT I DON'T KNOW IF WE'LL HAVE THE TIME TO GET IT DONE BEFORE BABY. (SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS - MY PHONE IS WONKY)
