Has anyone mailed anything to the UK?

I am looking to send a fedex type envelope to someone in the UK. On Fedex and UPS website it's over $50. So does anyone have any suggestions? I know it may be a long shot. TIA!

    I just mailed a bubble envelope with a cd and card in it to Germany for $.3.96 - First Class mail.

    Send it U.S. postal service. It should not be that much. I normally send packages to Norway for about $8-$12.
