? for those with formula checks

Have you been asked to see your driver's license or for your DL number when using them? I used one the other day that someone on here sent me and they had to type in my DL#. Just wondering if this happened to anyone else.

I've used them before and haven't had to do that.

  • No but I suppose a cashier might not understand how these 'checks' work. They are rung through as a form of payment (cash, credit card or check). But it's not a personal check so I don't understand why they would do that unless the cashier is worried that the formula company's "check" is going to bounce ha.

This. Asking for your I.D is more for the store, not the manufacturer. That cashier is just not very smart.

  • No, but i know target puts them in as checks, so maybe thats why.
  • Target puts them as rebate checks, not regular checks.  I have never had a clerk ask for my id.
  • Hmm, she ran it through the check machine just like I've seen other cashiers do and then said "it's asking for your DL#, not sure why." Maybe she did put it through incorrectly.
  • I haven't experienced it personally but I've heard a few other people mention it has happened to them.  I think it was at Target.
