What do you use? What works? I've tried Butt Paste and Desitin the past two days. It is a horrible rash, probably due to diarrhea caused by teething (molars)
DD wouldn't even sit in her bath tonight, it hurts so badly.

Poor thing. Lots of naked time of course. We use Desitin or Aveeno Diaper Rash Cream. Usually the Desitin works better though. In the past we have also use otc anti-fungal cream, like Tinactin. Good luck, hope she feels better.
Get some Lotrimin AF cream and use that and Desitin, it will clear it right up.
ARGHH! Her nanny has it in her backpack, in her car. Now, DD is asleep and I can't leave the house. DH is out of town.
We also did the baking soda in the bath tonight and last night.
I tried to do naked butt time and it lasted 5 minutes. She peed on herself and the carpet and absolutely panicked! She kept pointing at the stain on the carpet and crying. Maybe she's ready to potty train?

On another note, she might be ready for the potty. Morgan has started saying 'Ca-Ca' (Spanish for poop?) a lot lately so I think she might be ready soon. I hope so.
DS had a diaper rash like that where he wouldn't sit, lay or put any pressure on his bum. I was ready to take him to instacare to have it checked out. He had chronic diaper rashes and just generally sensitive skin.
Finally, my pedi recommended Calmoseptine ointment/cream after the second visit just for diaper rashes. You have to buy it at the pharmacy but you don't need a prescription. That stuff COATS the bum and totally makes a moisture proof barrier.
Ever since we started using that we have not had any problems with diaper rash. I highly recommend it! I actually buy it in bulk now so that we always have some on hand.
I've heard some ladies on here use Mylanta on their LO's bums. Is it on her vag too (sorry tmi) b/c my DD has it on her vag and I've tried Lotrimin for weeks now and it's not going away. Her Molars are coming in so I know the that's what causing the rash. I'm going to try Mylanta method.
If it's really bad and it won't go away with any of the above treatments, ask you Dr. for a prescription for Nystatin. My DD had one really bad rash and the Triple Paste, Desitin, A&D and air time wasn't cutting it. The Nystatin did wonders!
I second the milk of mag. I soaked a cotton ball and applied it liberally to the area. It worked wonders on DS's bum after we got out of the hospital (he had jaundice and was allergic to the wipes we were given). It literally cleared it up in 1 1/2 days.

Bummer. Well at least she is sleeping, right?
