Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

If you had a c/s and are pregnant again....

I'm curious if your "scar" hurts.  Mine hurts from time to time (like based on weather and stuff like that--like the scar tissue hurts or something)...and I'm just imagining the pain as the tummy is stretching.  And no, not pregnant yet--but just one of those things that I wonder about.....

Also--has your doctor told you about a second c/s.  Do they try to schedule it before your due date to make sure you don't go in to labor on your own?

  • No pain whatsoever.

I'm trying for a VBAC but I'm guessing I would have been scheduled for 38/39 weeks.

  • Not sure about the scar stretching/pain but my OB was going to schedule my repeat c/s at my 12 week appt (it would have been scheduled for ~1 week before my due date).

  • My scar doesn't hurt, but I have had a lot of soreness/crampiness in my abdomen which I'm told is related to scar tissue on the inside.

My original doctor wanted to schedule a repeat c/s the week before my due date. I switched so I could attempt a VBAC.

  • I'm not that far along yet but mine kind of feels uncomfortable every now & then...I wouldn't say hurts but I feel it occasionally.  I believe my OB will schedule the birth a week prior to my due date like he did last time so I don't go into labor early (although DD came 2 weeks early due to complications).

  • Yes it does. Not too badly, but it does feel stretched by the end.

But I'm on my 4th pregnancy and my 4th C-sect, and I think the scar tissues just kind of adds up.

  • Mine never bothered me and I had mine super close together.
  • Mine doesn't really bother me, sometimes a slight pulling feeling?? But Im hoping for a VBAC this next round (crossing fingers!)  :)
