Cheapest place to buy pumpkins...etc??

Not the grocery store, right??

I need a bunch for Isabelle's party and don't want to spend tons of $$ . I assume a farm, but which? (I'm up north)

Or, if you are someone that grows them I would gladly take some off your hands.  I'll pay you in hugs. Or photos. Or both.

TIA.

  • Don't know if it's the cheapest, but here's a cool linky for you!

  • I have a flyer/coupon thing from Swanson's nursery in Ballard.  They have a special in October  - all the pumpkins you can fit into their radio flyer wagon for $35.
  • Watch grocery store ads though. I think one year I got all my pumpkins for a pumpkin carving party at Top Foods, which they had on sale for 3 cents a pound. It was at the beginning of the month and my garage was cold enough to store them until the party. I would only do something like that again if I had cold storage (I had bought somewhere around 30 pumpkins).

  • So pumpkin patches are usually the MOST expensive place to buy, which is why we go and pretend and do lots of cute pics and then I go to the grocery and buy them which is where I have usually found the best prices about a week away from halloween.  Fred Meyer usually has pretty good deals on them too!

  • I've had good luck at Top Foods, too, even closer to Halloween.  I was only buying a couple, though.
