Avoiding alcohol (especially shots!) in the 2WW...

Hey ladies. I know some of you go with the motto "drink till is pink" and others dont touch alcohol while in the 2WW. I am going to a bachelorette party this weekend ...for those of you who choose not to drink while in the 2WW, how do you avoid a round of shots? I know this is a random question! But imagine being out with your girlfriends and someone buys a round...how the heck do you avoid it, other than by saying "no thanks". I am sure the minute I turn down a drink will start a whole parade of TTC questions. I may sip on a drink or two while out, but will do my best to avoid anything else. Any creative tips on avoiding group shots? I may just have to suck it up and say "no thanks" and take all the questions...

     "I drank too much the night before and still not feeling 100%" is my fallback excuse.

    I drink during the 2ww but only in moderation- no shots or getting hammered.  I usually use the DD excuse and just sip on a beer but I'm sure that would be hard for an event!  Let me know what works!

    Offer to be DD. 

    If there is a limo or something involved.  Start talking a few days in advance about how your tummy hurts and you've got the runs.  Then say that day that you're feeling well enough to be there but don't want to drink too much and spend the evening in the bathroom.  Something like that.  GL

    Say: "I can't do that shot, last time I did I I got SO sick". Or: "I'm already feeling pretty tipsy from all the drinks so far, I don't think I can handle a shot right now".

    one shot is no different than one drink...just factor it in to your overall consumption (a good idea even if not TTC)

    2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
    TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
    Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14

    I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

    While this is a good idea, I doubt this will fly! I am actually having dinner with the bride to be the night before...so she will know what I did that night! haha

    Just say you don't like shots!  I hate taking shots, I can't dump that much alcohol down my throat because it makes me puke.

    Say you're on antibiotics for something, and aren't allowed to drink. It would probably help if you didn't drink at all for this though.

    Or, say you've had an upset stomach all day, and are trying to take it easy to not aggravate it further.

    haha, no trash talk from me! While I am a UL fan, I wasnt too impressed with their first game against Indiana State, so I wasnt expecting them to beat UK. Gosh, that makes me sound like an awful fan! haha Unfortunately, I wasnt able to even watch the game...my grandma got married that day. DH kept everyone updated via text messages from friends.  I am sure you did some celebrating that night!  Big Smile

    Whoops! Dont know what happened above...

    Actually, I really dont like taking shots! They make me gag. You should see me taking jello shots...I use a spoon!

    I can't do shots, so that's my permanent excuse. Or maybe, "No Thanks. I'd rather not vomit."

    You can always go the "Coyote Ugly" route.  Take a bee to the bathroom and pour it out in toilet.  Then when people give you a shot "chase" it with your empty beer bottle and spit the shot into the beer.
