What's the difference between a wish list and a registry?

in 1st Trimester

Since this is our second, I was looking around for stuff that I would like to have that we don't already, and started a private wish list at BRU (just so I could keep track for myself)...

 

But WTH is the difference?  People can buy off the wish list and buy off the registry...I just did the wish list and will make it public if people ask.

 

Anyone know?

    I think a wish list goes away after a certain day, and the registry stays active for 1 year.

    Usually the wish list is a registry without the extra benefits. BRU registry has a "registry completion" certificate that you recieve shortly before/after your due date. It gives you 10% off the rest of the items on your registry. Plus I think the wish list keeps the items on there even after they're bought unless you manually take them off. The registry items will be marked "fulfilled" once someone buys off your registry (either in store or online). At least, this is the way I understand it. HTH!

    I assumed a Registry was for a shower (1st pregnancy) and that the Wish List was for special events ie: birthdays, holidays & milestones.

    I did the same thing that you did... started a WishList to keep track of my choices, but keeping it private. I will do a Registry when I am further along.. but for now, the wish list keeps me from being crazy! lol
