My niece's 1st b-day is this weekend and I want to get her a special keepsake gift other than the typical clothes or toys most people will give her. Any ideas?
I was thinking of a bracelet with her name on it but not sure where I can get one locally.I remember having one as a child that was my bracelet for special occasions only and I just loved it (and still have it). Where would I look for something like this?
Any other ideas?

Things Remembered at Alderwood Mall sells all sorts of things that are engraveable (and do the engraving there).
I got Mikayla a bracelet very similar to this from Things Remembered. They don't seem to sell the one I got, it was pink pearls and crystals with a little heart engraved with her name:

It's reallly cute and girly, and I'll probably give it to her on a special day when she's older, maybe on the day she gets her ears pierced or something.
are you stuck on something tangible? I started putting $35/birthday into a 529 account for my neices and nephews after I saw how many toys they have and how quickly they loose interest in them. They don't care about it now but I'm hoping some day they will
You also could start her a collection of something. Like a little bear figurine with a "1" on it and continue the collection. Halmark stores normaly have lots of those little figurines. I always wanted to give someone a music box or snow globe collection.
