Can I spray my Crock Pot with non-stick spray?

My crock pot is enamel and I often have trouble getting it really clean.  Been wondering if I could spray the inside with non-stick spray before using.  What do you think?

  • Yes, you can use non-stick spray.

Those disposable crockpot liners also work well.

  • Yes, you can. Personally, I don't like to do it very often - it irrationally makes me nervous, so I only do it when I make something very sticky, like a basted ham or something sugary.

They also make Crock Pot liners. They're thin plastic, just like the roasting bags you can get for your oven.

I've often put a little oil, butter or non-stick spray on the inside of my crockpot with no problem. Not sure why that makes you nervous...?

If anything, I'm too nervous to use the Crock Pot liners. I just don't like the idea of cooking food in plastic- leaching chemicals and all that jazz.

  • I have used non-stick spray, but it doesn't seem to help with clean up. The liners are awesome. I love these!!!!!!!!!
