Last Thursday afternoon Ari started tilting his head to the right pretty severely. I called his doc (his current one since we were mid-switch to his new pedi), & the after hours nurse said it could be an ear infection, probably not an emergency since he wasn't feverish or acting sick, and to call back in the a.m. for an appt.
I took him in & the doc says that they still sometimes have floppy heads at this age. I pointed out again that this was a more acute onset & he's had excellent head control for quite some time, especially over the last few weeks. He said it could be a pulled or sore muscle since he learned how to roll over both ways w/in a few days & had been "practicing" pretty avidly. I didn't feel good about these answers, but decided to wait over the weekend & see what happened. No improvement, so Monday I called the new pedi & they agreed to see him the following day.
The doc looked Ari over thoroughly & said Torticollis is a common cause of this but she could not find any tight muscles or lumps in his neck. She had another doc check behind her & he couldn't find anything either. So they've referred Ari for an MRI & also Physical Therapy. His MRI is 2 weeks away. So we wait.
Ugh. I hate this. I'm worried.
